Us
and Our Dogs
Our life with Beagles started in January 2004 with the purchase of our
first puppy, a male named Bailey
.
He was our first beagle and was a
family pet as well as a hunting companion for me.
We loved him so much that we decided to purchase a mate for him, a mate
with good breeding, her name is
Branko’s
Feelin Groovy and
you know how it goes from there. By the way, our Grandkids insisted that
they be married.
Our little Bailey’s father, Simonson's T.J. Tracker
was
AKC
best hunting beagle in 2003 and Groovy has 13 champions in 5
generations and some of those are international champions.
When we got Groovy she had been a kennel dog all of her life and choose
to isolate her self, at least at first. Now when we come in she is so
happy to see us. She loves to have her belly and head scratched and enjoys
sharing a chair and watching TV while she
naps.
Although she is getting on in age she still is a great tracker. She
isn't as fast as she use to be but it's hard to fool her when it comes to
tracking. Experience does make up for speed. We have recently
gave Groovy to my Grandson. They have a very special relationship
plus I can still take her hunting.
And then we purchased Cali or Dogtown
Calendar Girl , I was suppose to be able to name her, but it didn’t
work out that way, Her and Groovy are closely related, and Bailey comes
from some of the same lines as well.
We picked her up at the Sacramento Airport on 12/07/04
and already at the end of the day she comes and lays by my chair and
sleeps while I peck away at this computer.
Cali has an older sister named Marge
or Dogtown Marge. We picked her up on June
20th 2005.
Marge was field trained when I
purchased her and I am using her to round off my pack. I was
promised that she was Jacks hunting best dog, and she does it all and by
herself. I was not disappointed. Margie doesn't know the
word quite. She has surprised me several
times.
I would think she just didn't want to stop hunting, but she would have a
rabbit cornered, but just couldn't quite find it because the ground had
become too dry to hold the sent. I'd go over to get her and I would
flush out the rabbit myself.
Marge is quite and loving and
loves to hunt, and already part of the family. Plus she has elevated
the hunting of my pack.
We now have 4 dogs and all are
raised in our home. We have a pen in the house that they sleep in at
night and a doggy door and a large back yard. We pay a young girl,
Sara, to walk them 5 days a week and have a tread mill for wet
weather to keep them in top
shape.
We love our Beagles and know that
they are special. Not only to us but to those who they encounter in
their daily lives.
When you start off with the best, it's
hard to go wrong.
We are not a kennel. We are a husband and wife team who love our
Beagles and raise them the best way we
know.
This warm family environment allows them to socialization and play with
the other beagles and allows me to do what I love to do run rabbits with a
pack of good dogs.
Whether you are considering purchasing a pet for your child or a
companion for yourself, remember beagles are small enough to be lap dogs,
quick enough to go hunting and friendly & cuddly for your young child.
Beagles are excellent all around animals, that’s why we have them.
When choosing a beagle or any other dog, you need to find the best
quality animal to suit your needs. Do your homework - check out some
breeders, their facilities, and ask for references. Ask to see the parents
- check out their size, nothing over 15" at the shoulder, coloring & disposition (this will help
determine how your puppy will turn out ; ask about their veterinarian and
if the puppies were checked out. Have they had their puppy shots and been
wormed? Remember 2 things not all breeders are honest and NEVER buy
from a pet store.
Some where out their there is a
Beagle waiting to be your best friend.
Thank You
